Dr. Nandini Chhitwal, rheumatologist, works in the newly renovated Fauquier Health Medical Center on Fauquier Hospital’s campus in Warrenton. Dr. Chhitwal uses a multidisciplinary approach to manage her patients in the most comprehensive and effective manner. Fauquier Health Rheumatology may have telemedicine appointments available to provide "virtual" care visits to patients in need of care. The American College of Rheumatology estimates 88 million people have some form of rheumatic ailment or condition. As a rheumatologist, Dr. Nandini Chhitwal diagnoses and treats a wide variety of disabling diseases. Her specialty areas include various kinds of arthritis, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and gout; auto-immune diseases, such as lupus, Sjogren’s and scleroderma; and musculoskeletal pain disorders. And as one of the newest additions to our health system, Dr. Chhitwal hopes to use a multidisciplinary approach to manage her patients in the most comprehensive and effective manner.
Dr. Chhitwal earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Virginia in 2004. She then completed her internal medicine internship and residency program at Emory University in Atlanta. She stayed on at Emory University to complete an ACGME accredited fellowship in rheumatology.
