Dr. Manchandani has over 25 years of medical experience and is board-certified in hematology and medical oncology, with extensive training in management of solid and hematologic malignancies, as well as in benign hematologic disorders. He is excited to work with patients and primary care physicians in Fauquier County. “I am happy to be joining a small community hospital where I can learn to know my patients and my fellow physicians. I have been impressed with the patient-centered care philosophy that comes with being a Planetree hospital. You can get treatment for cancer at any hospital, but Fauquier Hospital provides compassionate and patient-centered care. That’s the difference.”
Dr. Manchandani has served as Chief Fellow at Howard University Hospital where he was also Assistant Professor of Medicine and Associate Program Director of the Hematology and Oncology Fellowship program. He received his medical degree from Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Pakistan, and completed clinical observation and residency in New York. During his fellowship, he participated in Bone Marrow Transplant and Bone Marrow Failure rotations at the National Institute of Health (NIH), as well as coagulation and thrombosis training at Georgetown University Hospital.
Dr. Manchandani conducted a variety of research projects and presentations during his medical training, including topics related to lymphoma, leukemia, anemia and breast cancer.
