After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Virginia in 1993, Dr. Maoury completed the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Internal Medicine Internship and Residency Program.
Dr. Maoury has conducted research on parapneumonic effusions and empyema, HIV infection and AIDS, and invasive group A streptococcal infections. He presented his findings to the McClellan Veterans Administration Hospital and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Maoury joined Fauquier Health as a private practice physician with Piedmont Internal Medicine in 1996. Prior to that, he was an emergency room physician for two hospitals in Arkansas, a student researcher at the University of Virginia, and a phlebotomist at Prince William Health System.
Dr. Maoury is married and has three children.
