Dr. Syed Salman Ali is committed to providing personalized, quality hematology and oncology services to patients at Fauquier Health. The only hematology/oncology practice in Fauquier County, Dr. Salman Ali believes in treating the whole person and developing close relationships with his patients to minimize side effects from cancer treatments, prevent complications and infections, and ensure quality-of-life considerations throughout his patient’s treatment plan.
Dr. Ali works closely with the Infusion Center at Fauquier Health, as well as The Cancer Center at Lake Manassas in Gainesville, to provide his patients with the best cancer treatment plan and continuity of care from start to finish.
Education and Training
After earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College in 2003, Dr. Ali completed the North Shore University Hospital Internal Medicine Internship and Residency Program. Following, he completed the Monter Cancer Center Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program at North Shore University Hospital.

Dr. Salman Ali is fluent in English, Hindi and Urdu.
Honors and Awards
Among his many academic honors, Dr. Ali served as Chief Resident at North Shore University Hospital, and graduated magna cum laude from the undergraduate biomedical science program at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education. Dr. Ali is currently a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Research
Dr. Ali was a clinical investigator for a cancer and thrombosis trial at North Shore University Hospital, where he conducted an ongoing randomized Phase III clinical trial to assess the role of IVC filters in the treatment of cancer patients with venous thromboembolism. He also was a research assistant and student researcher at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education and a research assistant at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Employment
Dr. Salman Ali joined Fauquier Health as a staff physician with Fauquier Health Physician Services in 2010, right after he completed his fellowship program.
