Dr. Nagle strives to deliver personalized medicine and to identify and treat root causes of health issues.  He believes first and foremost that preventive medicine is the best medicine.  He employs an integrative approach to healing and draws from a breadth of professional practice experiences.

Dr. Nagle began working in the health field first prior to medical school as a senior radiation health physicist for Georgetown University Medical Center from 1998 to 1999.  He has practiced medicine in a variety of settings—including government, military, academic, community health center, and private practice—and served as a contract flight surgeon for the United States Air Force and emergency response flight surgeon for NASA Space Shuttle Discovery Launch STS-133.  Prior to joining Piedmont Internal Medicine, he practiced primary care medicine and aviation medicine as a solo practitioner and FAA aviation medical examiner in a startup private practice.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Maryland in 2003, Dr. Nagle completed an internship in a Tufts New England Medical Center Internal Medicine program followed by training in Nuclear Medicine with Johns Hopkins Hospital and later in Aerospace Medicine with NASA.  He holds advanced graduate degrees in Radiation Health and Aerospace Medicine.

Dr. Nagle is board certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine with subspecialty certification in Aerospace Medicine.  He also holds certificates from the United States Air Force in Critical Care Air Transport and Aeromedical Evacuation and from the American College of Surgery in Advanced Trauma Life Support.

Dr. Nagle is an avid lifelong performing musician and commercial pilot (in parallel with a career in medicine), when he is not playing soccer dad to his teenage daughter.

Dr. Nagle has researched, published, and presented extensively in general medicine, aerospace medicine, and radiation health fields.  He has served as a member of the Aerospace Medical Association Scientific Review Committee since 2009 and is President-Elect for the Flying Physicians Association Mid-Atlantic Region.
